Trauma Informed Massage Therapy

What is it?

The physical body is a complicated interwoven web of connective tissue that connects the entire body called fascia. Within this web is a higher intelligence and where we store our memories and emotions.
An obvious example of this physical holding is the chest and throat tightening we feel in grief or the nausea we feel in anxiety. These are physical manifestations of our emotional experience. Using my years of experience in Massage Therapy and my lifelong experience of living with mental illness, I tap into both the physical and emotional holdings in order to take steps toward a more peaceful Self.
Deep Tissue, Myofascial, Craniosacral, visceral techniques, and cupping are used to free up stagnation and clear your Self so that you can take steps towards a more peaceful you.

We can approach the session two ways:
1. Intuitively: similar to a normal massage, I work intuitively with your muscles to find emotional and physical tension. Any emotions that come up can either be talked about, or directed out through silent breath. Less communication with me and more with your own body. We prioritize and focus on the physical release while addressing the emotional connections alongside.

2. Outwardly: We find the sensitive spots and work with emotional focus over massage flow. Sometimes that means staying in one spot! In this approach we are prioritizing the emotional release while addressing the physical holdings alongside. Think energy work with physical manipulation.

Massage FAQ

Do you take insurance or have packages?

I do not offer Packages or take traditional insurance.
I keep my rates below market to be both accessible to everyone and to pass on savings every treatment! Not just when you prepay.
I do take on a small amount of Motor Vehicle Accident claims at a time so each case gets my full focus. Spots currently open.

What is your approach to massage?

I have over fourteen years of experience in manual bodywork. My approach is to reconnect the brain to the tissues so that the body can move properly. I do deep tissue and sports therapy with a focus to the fascial system. Though that does not mean it has to be painful! While I keep the sessions relaxing, my approach is to make change.

Do you offer any add ons?

Yes I do, and for free!
I do not charge extra for "add on's" but I do ask that you request any at least 24 hours before your appointment so I can make sure I am prepared. These are fun ways to change up the experience so do not hesitate to ask!
